Motorsport insurance. Help please folks!
Discussion
Hi all. My lad has raced in the hot hatch challenge for a few seasons and haven’t used insurance as I usually fixed it with a hammer and ingenuity. This season he has a pretty expensive car built for him by a good car builder. He needs insurance this year for the hot hatch challenge. We would really appreciate any pointers as to which companies are any good or even where to go. The few we have tried have baulked at insuring built cars that are there for the season in a championship.
Thanks in advance!!

I have used Ryan Motorsport Insurance for years and never had any issues with them. Great company to deal with.
Usually it’s just a case of the premium being relative to the sum insured and the driver’s experience.
Having said all this, I insure my cars for arrive and drive where the driver is liable for repair costs. Obviously the insurance limits their liability. Not sure it makes financial sense to insure your own personal car for your own personal use but only you can make that decision based on the premiums you are quoted.
