This applies to any AAA/USAC/CART/Champ Car/IRL/Indycar entries or rumours that never came to fruition.

Can also include tests that never went anywhere and non-qualifiers/non-starters as technically they count since they turned up but never raced.

Starting with Kenneth Hamilton (father of Davey Hamilton) and the Eagle Aircraft Flyer Special Chevrolet failing to qualify for the 1982 Indy 500.

A few unrealised rumours from the 2003 Champ Car Season:

The stillborn BC Motorsports team, Giorgio Pantano would have been their driver.

F3000 teams Arden and the short-lived Brand Motorsport were linked with entries, the latter would have brought back sometime Chip Ganassi driver Nicolas Minassian.

The late Justin Wilson was in the frame for a Newman-Haas seat until he signed for Minardi in F1.

Andre Lotterer was linked to a Champ Car switch after contesting the final round of the 2002 Season with Dale Coyne Racing.

Kurt Busch tested for Team Rahal but Bobby Rahal had already signed Michel Jourdain Jr.

I'd like to see Lewis Hamilton have a go at the Indy 500.

After all, it was won by Jim Clark and Graham Hill among other F1 drivers and Nigel Mansell was the only person ever to hold F1 and Indycar (CART) titles simultaneously.

Ayrton Senna tested for Penske at the end of 1992, following the retirement of Rick Mears. Roger Penske already had Emerson Fittipaldi and was on the verge of signing Paul Tracy but was hoping to run Senna in the 1993 Indy 500

The Deltawing, never raced as an Indycar, ended up as a Le Mans entrant. Lola and Swift also designed new Indycar concepts for the 2012 Season.

Would be even better a stock car race or something like Daytona 500, would pay money to see some "good ol' boys" ripping the piss out of Our Lew's wardrobe choices.

Bjorn Wirdheim tested for Patrick Racing in 2003 after his F3000 success and for PKV Racing in 2005, he was also in the frame at Dale Coyne Racing but ended up at HVM Racing.
