I think Chicane would be a little tight for BTCC driving!

Goodwood is a Grade 4 Historic circuit from the FIA list so cannot happen https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/circuits_f...
I imagine the safety fencing would have to change to allow it.

The circuit is only allowed a limited number of racing days on its permit from the local council, so they would have to give up either the Member's Meeting or Revival if they wanted to allow a different race meeting to take place. In short, it will never happen.
Yes, I knew that there were local limitations involved.Such a shame... waste of a great Circuit.
( I think they like their revivals...)

The ‘Yank Tanks’ seem to be able to negotiate it... & they are worth two BTCC cars each. The other thing is the pitlane is not suited to modern racing, so that would all have to be knocked down and rebuilt.
New circuits have been asked about before but Alan Gow's line is that they already use all the UK circuits that are suitable. Paddock space has been mentioned as one of the main limitations.
Personally I'd love two Silverstone rounds, one on the 'old' international layout and the other run from the new pitlane on the short layout that end. At the very least have the double round rotated each year rather than just two Thruxton rounds like it has been since Rockingham closed.

Such a shame that track in Wales isn’t going ahead now either.Personally I'd love two Silverstone rounds, one on the 'old' international layout and the other run from the new pitlane on the short layout that end. Would have been a true British championship then.

Wasn't that going to be nestled right under the nose of a few tens of thousand nimbys? I remember thinking the chance of any significant race calendar there being pretty slim.
Anglesey would be a great addition to the calendar.
Quite a few tracks to choose from... it’s councils / logisticsAnglesey would be a great addition to the calendar.
that get in the way.
Is it a few residents at Brands Hatch that complain... the track was there first though.
This was proposed for Brands Hatch...

This. The track would be ruined by the changes required....and March wouldn't want to ruin Revival (and its bad enough that they keep asking the punters about extending to post '66 stuff, which is the last thing the Revival needs...IMHO)
You have the Members meet plus Sillystone Classic for that stuff.

So no, not just NIMBYs this time…
Having been to Revival and Members' Meetings I am more than happy with their current fare thanks. I watch BTCC now and again, last time a couple of weeks ago and so far as dull sounding, overhyped and near spec racing goes it's fine. And that is the problem . Not to mention the gazebo dwelling hordes . I am not over keen on the pink trousered Hoorays at the Revival , but at least they don't drop as much litter
I was thinking about this the other day ( well thinking about the tracks BTCC could use)
Anglesey would be good, as would kirkistown in NI
I'd like them to run a temporary airport circuit like Indycar do at Cleveland but at Helston airfield in Cornwall.
GP circuit at Silverstone rather than the national
I'd bin off the Brands Indy.
A street should in the Uk should also happen, a lot less logistics than for a GP. But which town? Do we go back to Birmingham or my personal favourite option, Belfast for a blast around the A2, Ann Street. Middle path street ( we could bin of kirkistown in this case)
Then to top it off, an away trip to Spa.
that should sort it.
Come on GOW, chop chop.
