Just wondering if the restrictions for these have been lifted yet. A large chunk of why I go to circuits is to wander around the paddock and put garages, so I don’t bother going at all if that’s not happening.

Depends on the circuit and the event.

Full access at Knockhill last weekend for BTCC. It was great to have decent crowd at an event for the first time in almost 18 months smile

Full access at the Snetterton Sizzler run by the CSCC on the weekend just gone as well, nice to see a decent crowd there as well which isn’t always the case at Club meets.

Not quite back to normal. Paddock access is allowed for UK series. No pit walks allowed at BSB yet. MotoGP never allowed access to the paddock and the rules are even more strict for this year. PCR tests are also a requirement for MotoGP officials.

Thanks for all the info.

I’m going to risk it and go to Brands for the meeting on 29th August and just see what happens. A two hour drive, but I just struggle to enjoy Snetterton which is an hour away! Looks like an interesting meeting, at least.

Please don't risk it for that meeting. The chance of being allowed in the paddock is zero. It's a European meeting. They might have had to have quarantined before the meeting when they arrived in the UK. They will be in Germany the following weekend. There is no way that they will want non-essential contact. The paddock is easy to lock down at Brands because you can only access it via 2 tunnels, which are easy to police.

Good points, but I just need to see some racing now. And at least Brands is a good walk too!

And judging from the timetable the gts will be in the inner paddck and as lucy said this maybe locked down. However I would imagine the outer paddock will be open as that looks to be domestic stuff so still lots to see. Obviously imho.

I’m recovering from surgery, and I need to get out for the day. Been almost stuck in the house since 16th July!

Our final instructions for this weekends (Fanatec GT World Challenge) meeting at Brands states the Inner paddock is off limits to the general public but the outer paddock isn’t.

Thank you. The outer paddock is the interesting one anyway!

That's fairly standard for Brands for events of any stature - even before the current unpleasantness.

Looking forward to getting into the outer paddock again - although it was a bit pointless banning punters from the paddock when they were letting the team members and hangers-on in and out of the public areas and grandstands without restriction.
