I see that Neate's called the COVID-card again:

https://motorbaseperformance.co.uk/paul-rivett-to-...

Do you think he'll return to the BTCC?

Before you start off with this, when he got to Oulton he'd dropped a over stone in weight since the previous round he could barely hold a conversation for more than a couple of minutes without getting out of breath.

He looked like absolute st and we all thought he was daft getting in the car. I'm pretty sure the only reason he put himself through it was because he knew people would be throwing st around about him not coming back if he didn't.

Frankly if you're going to have a go about anything it's the fact that someone who has suffered severe pneumonia while on a life support machine in the past didn't bother to get vaccinated at the first opportunity.

On a lighter note, this is my local circuit and will be camping for the duration.

Here's to a good weekend for everyone (which I know is impossible). Given the start of thread, health to enjoy also (although having experienced the showers in the past, we will see... biggrin, at least there are some!).

I'll no doubt watch it this weekend but am I alone in thinking this season is just lacking something? I'm not sure what but it just feels like it's been a bit dull racing wise, the only action seems to have just come from massive pileups.

You're not alone, I've felt it a bit too. Just feels like the season hasn't really got going. To be fair, that's partly because the drivers I particularly like (Turks, Wookie) have struggled lately, while Cammish, who I also follow, has left the series.

I've actually looked forward to the Porsches the most - that's where the high drama and intrigue appears to be this season!!

Got to say i agree, I'm really loving the Porsches this season, Im secretly hoping Ingram wins the BTCC this year (sorry Wookie).

I'm glad to see Harry King isn't just driving off in to the distance and winning by 20 seconds every race like last year (slight exaggeration I know). There is no doubting Harry Kings talents, but i do wonder if there was something 'special' about his car last season. I realise with Cammish back in the series the quality of his opposition has increased but i can't see how he has gone from winning by a mile to being on about the same pace as the others. I mean the car is essentially the same chassis and engine as last year I believe (correct me if i am wrong).

Either way its making some interesting viewing, glad to see King being put under pressure and he is starting to make some mistakes.

I'm finding it hard to spot which driver is in each car. With so many black cars and the rest having similar colour liveries in a pack it's sometimes hard too follow who is who.

Hi can you pay on the gate on Sunday or do you have to buy tickets on line beforehand? Thanks Tony

Any tips for someone who has never been to Knockhill before?

I’m heading over with my young boys, probably aiming for 9.30 so we can catch at least one of each support race but leave mid afternoon rather than being out all day.

Any tips on where to park? Easier just to park near the entrance and spend the day on foot?

You won't have a choice on parking, you'll be guided in and parked as you arrive. It's a small place, easy to walk round and view different races in different places.

Hope you enjoy your visit.

Buying e-tickets online is definitely the preferred option, but I'm told you'll still be able to sort it at the gate if necessary.

Great, thanks for clearing that up. I thought I'd read somewhere that you can drive to different parts of the circuit. Maybe that was just for other days.

You're right, that's usually the case. The reality with big events like this and bsb is that, unless we try to get everyone parked up in some kind of order, we'll run out of space real quick.

At least the weather forecast is looking dry for Sunday, hopefully no need to hide in the car from the wind & rain!

Firstly Andy, please take time to make a full recovery - all the best with that. When you're good & ready please return to the paddock: the BTCC family will be more than happy to welcome you as a spectator.

Glad I'm not the only one who's found the season has yet to stir the soul. Several reasons for this: the yawning gaps in the calendar with the season heavily back loaded towards August & beyond, no clear title contenders, too much carnage & identikit cars. When coverage switched to ITV3 my Freesat box failed again & it was weeks before I finally caught the Brands action which hasn't helped my enjoyment.

On a more positive note, many thanks as ever to Ollie for his contributions on here along with Dan et Al who have chipped in, onwards and upwards.

Most people head up the M90 from Edinburgh and come off at J4. The queue starts almost as soon as you leave the motorway. Better to go up to J5 and head in from the north.
Depending on where the make you park and the size of the crowd, it could take you well over an hour to get out at the end.

Yep hope it doesnt carry on over rest of the races. I'm glad a few drivers have exchanged concerns about driving levels at oulton park. Needs to be tackled quickly others someone is going to get hurt.
