Now THIS is serious performance!

Imagine cars that weigh around 550 kgs but which have 900 bhp. That's like a Morgan 3 wheeler with 900 bhp. Even the lightest Smart Car weighs much more.
If you've not witnessed it watch a race from The World of Outlaws USA tour. Dad used to spanner out there and i've been many times simply to watch and it's awesome.
I get it that in the UK the interest will be a minority one but cars doing 150 mph on oval dirt rather than tarmac tracks is a sight to behold.
To Americans reading this, if any, have you been and what do you think? I think the drivers are incredible.

While the race set up is a bit different we have Brisca stock car in the UK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haBm0ffxftw
mid 90's the power was more like 650 -700 bhp
early 2000's it was up to 900+ and 575kg which is why a lot of lap records from that era still stand
only recently been eclipsed in the last couple of years

Yup, pretty much the entire 1994 grid had 700bhp, even the Customer Ford engines, the FW16, B194 and 412T1 were probably much closer to 750bhp… you’re dead right though, the early 2000s were something special, Honda, Toyota and Renault made some proper screamers
Anyway, I thought this was going to be about the British Hillclimb Championship, any thread claiming “THIS is serious performance” that is then not BHC is disappointing
That said, this video is a good watch, skip to about 8:00 for the Dyno run.
