1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, 5-speed sequential transmission and all-wheel drive. Power capped at 260bhp:

Not quite Group B (sighs) ... but you'd imagine it'd be a blast.

Can also imagine the youth vote thinking how the above car would be "improved" by a nice set of 23" idiot rims and a "suspension" low enough to hide the top of the sidewall lol ...

That is a really good looking car. I’d like to hear the noise.

Looks the business, I hope the retro paint scheme is kept.

Apart from the looks it’s not got much Audi in it, pretty much a silhouette car really.

Shamelessly knicked this from Peter Scott on FB

Lots of chat about this Audi on Social Media today. To me, a lot of hype over very little as the car has nothing to do with the manufacturer. While the car is outwardly Audi it is fitted with a kit of parts from Oreca, the chosen FIA supplier , complying with FIA R4 regulations and consisting of a Peugeot based direct injection1600cc turbocharged engine using Magneti Marelli type SRG-340 electronics. The gearbox and rear differential are as used in a Fiesta R5. It also includes the front axle – suspension cradles and triangles, complete hub carriers, steering rack, steering tie rods - and rear axle – suspension cradles and triangles, complete hub carriers, robust transversal and longitudinal shafts - plus callipers and discs and a fuel cell with internal pumps. The kit doesn't include suspension. These kits can be fitted to virtually any modern hatchback and a Hyundai i20, Fiat MR500, Mazda 2 and Dacia Sandero have already been produced. The engine produces 263 bhp and the car is about half a second per mile off R5 pace. A built car is going to come in at €180k, about €40k cheaper then a a Rally 2 (Formerly R5) car but the big advantage is 40% lower running costs. https://www.oreca.com/en/manufacturer/fia-r4-kit/ This is the step above the new MSport Rally 3 Fiesta which has 4WD and a 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine, delivering 215bhp and 400Nm of torque through a five-speed sequential gearbox and below Rally 2 (old R5). At €100k this Fiesta is slightly over half the price of a R4 car and maintenance costs are also about 50% cheaper.

Ekky have close links with Audi from DTM and then rallycross, so this is probably a hotch potch of R5 base and RX stuff, nothing that interesting honestly, but he knows his stuff and knows how to generate interest.
