2021 Tuscan Challenge provisional dates
Discussion
Hi all,
Does anyone know if or when the 2021 dates will be announced and entries will open? The website hasn't been updated since the 2019 season.

Thanks,
Alex

I dont think it exists anymore and there's no real consensus with those who own cars on what spec to run them and where to run them.
There must be an appetite to get the cars out together at least once a year!
How many Tuscan Challenge car owners hording their cars near original spec hoping something like Silverstone Classic comes along?

They ran them here as a support race last year. Probably will this year too:

There must be some scope for an organised effort to reunite all the TVR racers. There must be 10+ Tuscans still active and racing, GTF are producing some spectacular race cars, maybe 5 or so of those active in various places? And then there are still a number of prominent campaigners of TVR racers, there must be at least 20 club racers who run a TVR of some description in some or other series. I’m not sure if the guys running the Classic Griffiths, Tuscans, Vixens etc. are keen to share tarmac with 600hp monsters running slicks but if they fancied giving it a go they could also be catered for.
From what I hear CSCC Slicks was mooted as a possible destination to run an informal series, the more I think about it the more I’m certain that getting 20 cars together to form an independent grid in their own right should be a possibility. Just doesn’t seem to be the desire from anywhere to make it happen, which baffles me somewhat.
I muse as someone with a vested interest as I’ll be ground-up rebuilding my Chim and during the process will do the necessary to make it blue-book legal. As there is no clear TVR racing destination I’ll probably do it roadsports style and have a heavier softer car that’ll only ever race on road tyres, CSCC Modern Classics etc. On mixed grids you only ever race whatever is around you so what’s the point in producing a proper race car? If there was some sort of TVR Championship presence then I might be tempted to take it off the road as a proper racer on slicks.

Hi Chaps
Sorry no one has answerd you before now. This is the first time i have looked here for over a year i should think. I,m pleased to say TVR racing is alive but the sad news is that DTEC as it was known as far as i know no longer exists. Most of the TVR circuit guys are a member of a seperate whatsapp group. They all seam to have moved away from a public forum such as this. No idea why. Most of them are on face ache these days i guess. For quite some years TVR Challenge cars have been dwindling slowly dripping abroard and into private collection. Up untill the last couple of years where else could you look for a full monty 400+ BHP race car for under 20k . That has changed now and they are 33 years old now so classic racing opens up and is very popular in the UK and Europe. So now a days you will find The GTF Sagaris and Challenge cars racing in the various CSCC series . I race my Sagaris GTF in Slix , Castle Combe GT,s and my original RV8 Challenge car in Future Classics. I have been racing in CSCC for about 7 years now and i do know quite a few cars are going to join me this year. we are trying to all meet up at Donnigton Park in the slix series on May 29th and 30th. looking like 5 GTF Sagaris and 7 challenge cars. There will be some TVR at the Bently do and I think you will find a lot of cars out for the Silverstone GP circuit on October 24th.

Hope all is well. Car is looking good. Hoping to get the little one to Brands this year to watch some racing. Covid put pay to it last year. Are you at Brands at all latter in the year?

yep all good here, been having a couple of teething bits and bobs on the Sag but hope to do the August slix with CSCC at brands GP. If sag not ready will enter the RV8.
Excellent. Hopefully I'll see you and the Sag there. If we are ever allowed in the paddocks again. yep all good here, been having a couple of teething bits and bobs on the Sag but hope to do the August slix with CSCC at brands GP. If sag not ready will enter the RV8.
