British GT Questions

Good Evening All.
I’ve just watched the first race at Oulton Park on YouTube, and as a casual viewer of British GT I have a couple of questions I hoped you guys could help me with:
1. What happened to all the Pro Am teams? I’m sure last year it was mainly Pro Am, but now there are A LOT of Silver-Silver teams.
2. What happened to the Invictus Games racing team?
3. What happened to all the Ginettas? They seemed to be the main car choice in GT4 last year.
4. Is there a limit to the number of tyres available for a weekend/season? Just wondering why only some teams changed tyres in the pit stop.
5. Is James Baldwin sponsoring the commentary? Every time they say his name they also add “the worlds fastest gamer”. It’s like it’s a contractural obligation.
Thanks in advance. I hope to get to a race at some point, but looking at the calendar this is probably unlikely to happen this year.

1. Coronavirus meant lots of AMs decided to give it a miss this year.
2. It was a 2 year project that's now come to an end.
3. There weren't any last year, might have been a couple in 2018. It's an old car, fine in it's day but not really competitive against modern machinery.
4. Don't know
5. Probably.

1. There are still quite a few Pro Ams. The main thing we've lost is GT4 teams.Good Evening All.

2. The fellow who funded the building and running of the Jaguars has put his racing activities on hold because he has become involved with SuperDry again and needs to devote himself to that.
3. There were no Ginettas in BGT last year either and we only had one in Europe. Despite being competitive it is one of the oldest GT4 cars now and eventually things move on.
4. Yes there is a limit per event, not per season. There are usually easily enough for a weekend.
5. No idea. I doubt it. It's a good story to promote interest and shows what you can achieve. It was the same with the Nissan gamers a few years ago.
GT3 are allowed 5 sets of tyres per meeting and GT4 teams 4 sets, with one set being a left over set from a previous meeting, with the exception of the first meeting when all sets can be new.
For a 3 hour race or the 2hr + 1 race this season, an extra set of tyres is permitted.
You have to nominate the sets of tyres prior to the meeting.
If you have a puncture or a tyre damaged beyond safe use you are allowed up to 4 replacement tyres but have to get scruitineers acceptance.
You don't have to use all the tyres at your disposal.
Wet tyres do not fall into this allowance.
