for the last three years I have watched the IMSA WeatherTech races via the browser on my TV. I stream either from IMSA.TV or The Radio Le Mans website.

When trying to watch the recent races at Daytona and Sebring, the stream works perfectly for the Qualifying sessions and support events, however when the main race begins the streams don’t load. I can watch them on my phone but not through the TV. The same happens if I use the browser on my Fire Stick.

Has something changed with the way the races are broadcast which is causing this?

Not understanding the technology properly type answer - does the website think you're in America? The streaming of the races is geo-blocked in the US

I don’t know why it would, it’s just the inbuilt browser on my Sony TV. It worked perfectly for the Daytona 24 hours in February but now it doesn’t want to know. I haven’t fiddled with any settings at all.

The IMSA app and website live streaming has got so bad for me that I've given up and I'm now watching a few days later on YT (smart tv)

They must have changed something; as Daytona was fine, the same as previously. However, the first race back I had no video playing, despite the same settings as earlier.
I had a fiddle with some settings; so de-activated the ad blocker, and allowed the flash player automatically....and it seemed to work.

That’s interesting. I had to deactivate my ad blocker in my phone. There isn’t one on the tv though which is puzzling.

I haven't seen either the 2 recent races, but had no problems watching bits of qualifying or the Pilot Challenge races, might be worth contacting Radio Le Mans? They'll be in regular contact with the people in the US

I have sent them an email as well as IMSA themselves. Hopefully they will respond.

Yes, the last race I watched they'd changed it so there was an advert that played before the link to the stream appeared, if you had an ad blocker the ad didn't play so the link didn't appear..

The stream quality was a bit poor too but I put that down to having a weak wifi signal where I was, but perhaps it was at there end after all.
