So what and why is everyone’s all time favourite race car?

I know this has been done before (see link below), but that was 8 years ago and I’m desperate to pull the discussion away from COVID-19.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I’ll start it off with the Lotus 22 formula Junior. I fell in love with this car during my teenage years, visiting the Silverstone Classic with my dad. The elegance of the lines make it the quintessential race car to me, combined with the fact they absolutely dominated Formula Junior and not to mention everything looks better in British racing green. They started off a long standing fascination with all things Lotus for me, not to mention bringing back memories of great days out with the ok’ man.

Oh crikey , it is almost impossible to narrow it down to only one. Because then I'd have to eliminate Bugatti T35, Lolas T70 and T330 , Lotuses 38, 69 and 79 , Alfa 33/3 , Toyota TF 105 (That NOISE!!) and God , so many Ferraris - from 330LMB via Dino 206S , P4 , 512M and (sob) 312T to my winner - the 641 , which looked perfect , and I can still hear that shriek as it came out of Stowe up to Club .

And here she is , one of only two cars in MOMA

Jordan 191 (Yes I'm a Schumacher fan)
F2004 Ferrari
SEAT Leon WTCC (TDI)
SEAT Leon BTCC 2008 (TDI)

bottom 2 will have people scratching their heads.

Yep Plato, Turner and then WTCC version Tarquini, Muller to name a few.

The 2008 Plato chassis is stored about 2 miles from my house.

Two for me...

and

The first one needs no explanation. The second one is a Lamborghini powered Minardi. Certainly not one of the best F1 cars of it's time, but I really like it...

This has to be the most stunning car from the sixties! This was Le Mans in 1968, 52 years ago!

Nah mate ,, you're all wrong , it's not a patch on a SEAT Leon . Diesel...

Chevron B8 is a lovely thing , and I saw many in period , including one being driven through Leeds City Centre in about 1972

The B16 can't compete with the luscious Leon either, can it ?
