I am intending on travelling over for the Blancpain series in July.

Has anyone ever been before, and if so would you recommend a Grandstand seat or a Dunes ticket? Also, how would you rate the circuit for a day out.

Given the track will no doubt be ruined so F1 can race there in 2020, I would like to go before it is entirely sanitised.

Thanks

Not for Blancpain but went last year and going this weekend.

I'd go for a Dunes ticket.

Perfect, would you reccomend staying in Zandvoort the night before or is travelling from Amsterdam ok on the morning?

That should be decent this weekend, looked absolutely rammed last year.

Half the reason for going to Blancpain is for the Dutch Supercars, always looks quite decent.

It's a pretty easy ride in on the train from Amsterdam, then a 20 minute or so walk to the track from memory.

Thank you, including Amsterdam will keep the Missus happy.

Was genuinely gutted to read Zandvoort had the F1

I'm staying in our motorhome at the circuit.

However, the town centre is about 20-25 minutes walk from the circuit gates, with regular train services to Amsterdam.

The team who inspected Zandvoort last season with a view to its viability for F1 suggested that the track itself didn't need any or very little modification, suggesting it would just be the infrastructure at the circuit to accomodate modern F1 transporters, supports and a crowd of 100,000 Verstappen fans.

I stayed in Zandvoort last year and the old town is pleasant however the beach is lined with 70s tower blocks. On the beach itself there are some good bars and restaurants. The alternative would be to stay in Haarlem which is lovely and a 10 minute trip on the train.
