Question for team United Motorsport
Discussion
Hello!
I had UM ECU and TCU software installed yesterday. However, it was this dealer's first install on a mk7 Golf R and they knew nearly nothing about the files. There was no discussion about whether or not I have a downpipe installed (which I do), no mention of torque output or octane, and I was told there was only one file. Is this true now?
Also, I've noticed that off the line, from a dead stop, when I give it full throttle (stand on the accelerator) the car is considerably slower than stock. From 1000 rpm to ~2500-3000 rpm (when the power arrives) it crawls off the line. Is this consistent with your experiences? The other less-than-desirable quality is the tendency for the car to lurch when coming off of the throttle at mid/high rpm's (like someone hit me from the rear). Thoughts?
Otherwise, the tune seems to have a lot more "junk in it's trunk" than my old Uni tune. And the DSG map is much more consistent with my driving habits. That is to say, in D-mode the car isn't as quick/insistent to get to 6th gear and S-mode can be used in traffic (no more hanging near redline in second or third with no throttle input).
