Just joined, so have a good laugh and I'll take a good old ribbing about my Lada Riva, then maybe someone can help.. I read recently ( might have been an old post) someone talking about rallying a Lada Riva years ago on Scottish championship. I need some 1300 upgrade options, i.e., high lift cam ( kent or other ) high compression pistons, are they worth the hassle? I need to ring 100BHP out of this 13 tons of Russian pride.

Might be worth posting this on the British Rally Forum, there are some ex-Lada Challenge competitors on there.

In the 1980's there was the Lada Challenge rally series, that was actually quite well supported. Can't remember to much about it but I do remember that engine modifications were not allowed. Done to keep cost down.

Thanks guys. Just took engine apart , double valve springs ( nightmare with bog standard valve spring compressor ) gas flowed, big valves, Spicy cam.
I'm doing the body work at mo, its ex lads challenge, with LSD going to do targa rallies with it. You can order all parts from Ladapower, based in Russia, deliver from Belgium. Looking to have some fun.
