The Blake family Porsche SC RSR Project at Spa, holding the latest RS Porsche Magazine featuring an article about their racer. Proud.

The Menasco Pirate built and driven by Robin Tuluie:

Yes, that's the Renault F1 R&D guy that now works for Bentley.

Boom: six litre aero racingplane fourpot in a prewar special which does a Spa lap in 3:15. That's an MGB racer laptime!

Incredible enthousiastic guy and with a love for everything with an engine in.

Formula 2 damage.

More to come.

And why not post it here. I love those 1.8 screamers. This is from the 2013 race:

Will do, this is the first 17 mins of the race from the gopro in the car, unedited. Grid form-up, warm-up/green flag lap and rolling start and a few race laps. The whole race is 60 mins, I have 52 odd mins of the race, interesting to me to see all my errors but somewhat tedious for everyone else!! At some point I may get round to editing it down. But this gives a feel for what its like in the cockpit.

Its a Ford FVC, 1840cc. Basically half a DFV!

We think it may have been running too rich as it used a lot of fuel, on the last few laps it was running out, I had to switch on the high pressure fuel pump to keep it going!!!

The Spa trip was only the first race since a full rebuild, so the car was basically brand new. Ran about 10 laps at the Silverstone test, 7 laps at Spa on the test day, then 7 laps in qualifying!!!

I have raced a similar car ( a red one )at Brands and at the Silverstone Classic this year after not racing since 2013. The Blue car handles slightly differently from the red one and I think the engine has a little more grunt too. So this season is just getting back in the grove and getting used to the car. Next season I hope to be more competitive.

105-series Alfa Romeo GT Coupe love here.

Thunderous Dodge Viper.

Lotus Elan is a perfect 6 Hrs tool: quick, reliable, light (so easy on the materials) and has good economy. Often a top-10 car.

Everything OK there?

Typical Spa 6 Hrs paddock scene.

Bizzarrini 5300 GT fiddling. Not an easy car to work on with that 327 Chevy lump hidden.

Thunder Road brought the Barry Sidery-Smith (RIP) MGB out in the 6 Hrs race.

I've got a major soft spot for Alfa 105-series coupes.

This one has to be one of the coolest racers around.

Glorious prewar stuff.

What a beauty: Jaguar E-type, not a Low Drag Coupe but a Lightweight. LDC has the fixed fastback style rear.

Ow yes, a favorite car here. Lotus Europa 70s icon.

One does meet interesting folks. Just say 'hi' and within minutes we became palls. Crowds just watching... I don't get it: these legend drivers are out in the wild and like to share their hobby FFS. Here's Robin Tuluie in his 1929 Menasco Pirate.
