NASCAR South Point 400 Las Vegas
Discussion
Lots happens before NASCAR races! I haven't been to Las Vegas, but typically you'll have a band doing a half hour or so performance, maybe some sort of display - we've seen parachutists & a tightrope walker, the drivers will be introduced on the big screen & then driven around the track in the back of pickups. Before the race you'll have the national anthem, usually murdered by some crap singer, a flypast by aircraft from a local military base, after which the real business of the day starts.
There will be lots of trade stands to meander around. Many of them will have one of the drivers they sponsor doing interviews a couple of hours before the race.
NASCAR isn't just a race, it's a day out. . . & the noise of a race start alone is worth the price of the ticket!

Am off to this a week on Sunday, gates open at 7am race starts at 12. Any opinions as to what time to get there for? Does much happen before the race?
If you haven't already got them, try to get tickets to the 'Neon Garage' as that gets you into the inner area where the pits are.You can go up on the roof of the pits and look into the garages. There's also an area with bands and food etc.
