With this likely too be the last visit for the btcc to this track and to some its no bad thing. Ive both watched racing and driven on the track and for a drivers point of view its such a shame too see it go however watching racing there just lacks any atmosphere.

Anyway back too btcc new merry go round of drivers rob collard is out of this and the Rd at knockhill to his injuries at Snetterton no news yet on who will be replacing him. Also as Snetterton was a one of for AWN at amd tunning they should be announcing the new driver which will run to the end of year as it will be the 2nd driver change for the team.

As for racing usually throws up some surprise results Subaru went well with wins for Sutton and cole but can't see them being as competitive this year. Hopefully Ingram can continue his consistent season as im tipping him for the tittle this year.

Shame about Collard, hopefully he recovers fully, enjoy watching him race.

Ricky Collard announced as his replacement which is no real surprise, had a feeling it would have been him or Nick Foster.

Wonder if after these accidents Rob will step away from BTCC and Ricky takes his seat.

I would think Ricky would want to pursue a paid GT career for a few more years yet.

Weird one Rockingham coming off the calendar, as a facility it somehow manages to look pretty good but be utterly st when you’re there. BUT it has always delivered good touring car racing. It’s a TV only event for me now, as seems to be the case for a lot of fans when it comes to deciding whether to go there or not

I’m one of the few people who think Rockingham is excellent apparently, I’ve always liked it, sitting at the top of the main grandstand when the whole crowd roars at a last corner overtake is pretty special.

I think it’s a shame to lose it.

Going to contradict myself a little though as I’m not going this year because you have to pay for grandstand access...

Went a couple of years ago and agree with the majority so far that watching on TV is great but actually being there did nothing for me at all.

Boost hasn't been changed all year apart from Subaru boost correction at croft from what I'm led too believe. Also quali he's 24th. Top 28 covered by a second and Morgan takes his maiden pole in the merc. Plato also ahead of Sutton.

There’s different versions of why but as I understand it, only the main stand and turn 1’s stand have ever been open.

One version is they only had planning permission for those 2 and the others didn’t have it so the council have never allowed them to open, the other version is the other stands are suffering subsidence hence aren’t allowed to be opened on safety grounds.

I'm sure the indy car visit filled the grandstand some 45000 spectators apparently. They haven't been used since well only main and turn one grandstand and now only the main grandstand. Such a shame because its a really fun track to drive and got good pit facility and the garages are massive.

Smilie in the grey Civic being a little 'robust' in race 1, perhaps too much so?

Think he "disrupted" at least 3 other drivers races! Bet Plato was absolutely spitting after being punted out of a decent position.

Fair play these juniors need to teach the btcc drivers who to get through turn one without contact and in the wet too. Excellent stuff.

Tbf light weight rwd cars and a wet rockingham track im surprised more didn't go of. It's a seriously slippy track me a few mates spent and entire afternoon sideways in a bunch of mx5 at a track day there in the semi wet conditions epic fun. Surprisingly the banking has a lot of grip.
