Far fewer people there this year than last, noticeably on the Saturday evening when the Lola's and Chevrons went out - chatting to a mate of mine in the assembly area we noted how the crowd was 3 deep last year, this time hardly a light scattering of people.
We recon its down to this year being over crowded with big events - Monaco, Donington Historic, Thruxton 50th, Le Mans, Silverstone Classic, Spa 6 hr and Oulton Classic. Not sure of the cost of the tickets as I was working (actually the chap in the top picture also owns the car I was running at the event) but I would assume it was not cheap.
Still, watching Soul to Soul on Friday night was ok, albeit the guys I was standing with were not even born when the music was released smile

Do it right and it's cheap.I get a car club ticket - about £ 100 for 3 days and includes free ticket. Lots of people down by the Wing yesterday .

My favourite event - the circuit may be ho hum but the 1100 car entry , access all areas policy and friendly people make it unmissable . Where else would you see 54 overtaking moves in one 20min race (FJ Sat ) - and that was fro, one driver , F1 fans .... , hordes of Cobras , Cortinas , scores of DFV F1 cars and a a tasty field of Le Mans cars ?
