Hi

Sprinting this weekend.

Think my tyres will pass scrutineering. All 4 are like this.

Tyres melted a bit on my last track day.

Thanks

never known a scrutineer to even look at tyres. Cars are often presented on roll around tyres and often are changed due to weather etc before runs/races so they don't even look at them. If you are road going classes I guess they might check they are 1a or 1b but that's about it. wouldn't worry about it.

Mate of mine was excluded from a race (unjustly) for having tyres that although they were subsequently proved to be legal were deemed illegal in post race scrutineering due to a admin cock up (by the MSA I think), the disqualification was overturned by the MSA months later and his result reinstated.
We have had tyres checked for minimum depth pre race scrutineering once as well.

Looks to me you have picked up rubber off the track, rather than your tyres "melting"

No that is just the tyre getting hot and rubber starting to scrub off the tyre.

Scrutineers will not even comment on this.

If you wear them right down to slicks they might tell you to change them
( had that racing at castle combe one with Yokohama ao48 that were very worn)
