You know the year is going way too quickly when it’s already time for Croft!

With how the season has been so far it seems silly to predict anything but another lottery for qualifying and all 3 races. It is usually a RWD track but with the Subaru’s likely to still be missing can we expect a BMW domination in qualifying at least?

Subaru apparently have had a ‘minor’ boost increase and aero update. Seems like minor now means ‘turned up to 11’...

That's just bullst. RWD cars already have an advantage, why give the Subarus an extra 150hp?

It’s not even subtle either, going from running last to suddenly qualifying 1-2. Anyone who believes they suddenly get the development sorted in 2 weeks is either a fool or blind.

Mind you, they looked exactly the same until Croft last year, is Alan Gow hoping people just think the Subaru isn’t suited to the first few tracks?

They have no been given any more boost what the team are doing is running too the max limit they were already set too, which has already caused Plato too have overheating issues again. Also looking at lap times Plato is quicker in 2016 than this year and don't forget they have wider tyres this year.

Sutton said at the end of qualifying they’ve had more boost... And the wider tyres were ran last year also.

Not in 2016 they didn't. For the record they are using more boost but not been given any more than what they already were allowed too use and it's already causing issues for Plato's car. Also the times compared too 2016 all the fwd cars are slower this year with only bmw matching their times. Even Subaru haven't matched their own times from 2016.

So its jot that surprising too see them back up the front specially with no weight and being a rwd car at a rwd track. Also jelly has upgraded too a newer spec engine for this meeting too which also points to the improvement from him.

Even if they have been given a boost rise its still not producing the times the car has done before and that was very early on in its development cycle and during the race they won't be able too use it fully anyway in case of blowing up the engines.

BMR and Team Parker were given more boost to the tune of 5 to 7 or so bhp.

It's a RWD friendly circuit, BMR are running the engines on the edge of destruction to get where they are (Plato needs a new one fitted), they have no ballast at all etc. It's not that surprising they are where they are.

What will be surprising if both cars can stay near the front for the whole day.

20 millibars because TOCA realised the calculations for them were wrong. That's worth about 4hp...

I anticipate at least one of them will retire, I don't think both cars will last the whole day

4hp? Really?

That puts them from the back of the pack to P1 and P2?

Plato will be wishing he had had a good sh|t just before qualifying. The weight saving would have put him on pole.

ITV are all over this Subaru revival, don’t think they’ve been this excited for a long time

I can imagine the Neals are already preparing their complaint against the Subarus.

It's a RWD track, they've sorted some of their cooling issues so they can use more of the available power, zero ballast. It's not power as they're still well down in the speed traps. It just shows what fine margins there are in BTCC.

Eurotech have gone from the front to the back because they couldn't get the handling balance right for this track.

Why shouldn't they be? The reigning champion and the most well known driver in BTCC both back at the front. Can only be good for viewing figures.

Looking on the official FB pages I've never seen so much Plato based activity in the comments which goes to show the draw he still has.

I guarantee you if you stopped 100 people on the street who actually knew what BTCC was and asked them to name a driver the vast majority would say Plato.

Full ballast and winning by 4 seconds in the second race. I’m sorry but this fking stinks, it’s not even subtle.

Watching the F4 race and young Doohan has been pretty special on lap one in both races starting from down the grid and being totally feerless trying to make up positions on the first lap - the onboard shots showing total commitment!
