Interesting stage in the championship, no clear winner to predict yet.

Disappointed in James Nash's performance so far. He was the Independent Champion in 2011 after all. But apparently he's having great difficulty with the NGTC. Will he stay I wonder?

Lots of theories about Plato, who knows what to believe. But will Warren Scott pilot his Subaru at Oulton park if Plato jumps ship?

Dan Lloyd stepping in for Nash at Oulton for Norlin.

Makes sense as he’s fairly familiar with the Civic with that engine.

Nash was really struggling with the car.

Question for Oulton Park is whether Plato appears or not?

I might have missed something here... why wouldn’t Plato appear?

People seem to be assuming that because he pulled out of the last round with engine troubles he will give up on the season. Can't see it happening myself and I can't seem him retiring at all if he has even a sniff of getting 100 wins.

I heard this morning that BMR are lowering the ride height by 6mm and adding 6kg of bulkhead weight. Wonder if it will make any difference to the handling. They obviously think it has some benefit.

You never know. Warren maybe polishing his helmet in case he has to "step in".

Not surprising he's been talking about this for a while.

I think this will happen naturally due to budgets / finance and Mr Gow is getting in early to show that it was "his idea".

The impression I got from the interview was the he was surprised that it hadn't happened naturally already. I don't think he foresaw certain teams expanding etc.

Do they not run it at the minimum ride height as it is? Or has this been one of the organisers ways of reducing the Subarus COG advantage?

They had to change the CoG to counteract the advantage of the boxer layout at the start of last year due to rule changes. Presumably they thought a higher ride height and less weight would be better originally and now they're trying it the other way around.

If history repeats itself and the Subaru’s suddenly pull a car length down the straights at Oulton again this year it will definitely be down to the new ride height/weight combo and not a sudden boost increase that’s kept quiet...

I've been told by a reliable source that he just parked it because he was fed up. Not because the engine was terminal...

I was shown a pitcure of all the cars back at base, all of them had their engines out, so here's hoping they can sort out their issues and get themselves up the grid.

Interesting "explanation" published today:

I'm gutted Plato is doing so badly. It's a huge dropoff from where he was only a short time ago. frown

Also, does anyone else feel the whole 'touring' side of it is missing? I remember the old days, where you had Laguns, Primeras, A4's and even the Volvo estate.

Now it feels like it's the British Hatchback Car Championship :/

Agree would like to see more “touring” models but it has gone the same way as wrc into small/medium hatchbacks for various reasons.

I see the notice to strike off BMR has been taken off the companies house listing but still late on their accounts.

So what does "touring" mean in "touring car"? It has to have a boot? I don't think so.

My way of thinking is that it is cars that (a) are not open-wheeled single seaters, and (b) are popular "normal" cars that we see on the roads every day. Someone seems to have decided that a "touring car" must have four (or five) doors, but that must be a new thing. "New" to my way of thinking, as an old fart, who remembers the Chargers and Monaros at Bathurst and Oran Park which only had two doors, although the Falcons had four.

But these old Aussie cars were popular normal cars that we saw on the roads every day. As are the cars that compete in the BTCC today.

Now just to upset all the VX haters on here, wouldn't an Astra GTC make an incredible looking car in NGTC form?
