Historic Masters - Brands this weekend
Discussion
I'm heading there as always - one of the best meetings of the year as far as I'm concerned. Particularly looking forward to the new Le Mans class.
Slightly worried about the reported changes to spectating on the GP loop, but I'll judge it for myself when I see it. Must say I didn't always feel safe on the approach to Stirlings so it's probably for the best.

Yes, heading down on Saturday for one of my favourite meetings of the year, but the visit will be tinged with sadness at the same time due to what has been done to the GP loop...
Anyway, to get everyone in the mood here are some pics from the last few years..

If you've not been this year you will loath what they have done to the GP loop
I have always felt safe, why? because I know the risks when i go in, so anyone saying that really doesn't get what it is to watch racing.
I will never go there again sadly to watch anything on the long track, maybe a stage raly. Adios Brand Hatch and well done you idiot Palmer, you utterly ruined the fan experience here.

It's as bad as that?I have always felt safe, why? because I know the risks when i go in, so anyone saying that really doesn't get what it is to watch racing.

The section I was referencing was the narrow path with the low bit of armco between Sheene and Stirlings which always felt very exposed to me, but there's little choice in using it or the knee-deep mud track further into the wood. That's the only section I ever felt was hairy in any way.
It's still a classic track and at least they've not modified the actual layout which would be far more of a travesty in my opinion. Spectating at Brands is still one of the better experiences due to its nature, so if the GP loop isn't quite what it was, it's a shame, but that doesn't suddenly make it terrible surely? It still ranks as one of the UK's best tracks for spectating.

Sorry, for me it is, to be treated like this when othre tracks do not see the need is the end of the line
Hardly a miss, I perhaps only go there once a year. Good riddance, I told them so by email too.
I should think they'll hardly miss you either.Hardly a miss, I perhaps only go there once a year. Good riddance, I told them so by email too.
From a spectating point of view it is much better than Silverstone I think, although I go there more frequently than I do Brands. You can see all the pits.
I go to Brands around 5 times a year, although this visit will be my fourth this year. I like it.

Agreed, they will not miss me and I will not miss them
Shame, if more people voted with their feet, a lot of these things might not happen.
Sheep, will be sheep
It's really not that bad - I was there last weekend. Agreed, they will not miss me and I will not miss them

It's not better than it was, and it's not ideal, but it remains a great track with a nice atmosphere.
