BTCC Media/Public Open Day
Discussion
Went to this today. Not bad for a freebie. Can’t believe how many people are here. Must be 10000 people here.

Wife got loads more pictures but a great day out for free. Only disappointment was not meeting Rob Austin and Handly Motorsport keeping the Alfa Romeo garage pretty inaccessible compared to everyone else.

You could see the frustration on some of the mechanics faces in other teams as they struggled to get people to move out the way.
I have followed Rob since his early days in BTCC with Rob Austin Motorsport and he is by far my favourite driver. I had the privalidge of spending a few minutes with him at Rockingham last year he was very open and talkative considering his surroundings and pressure on him and his time at that time.
Oh and Rockingham and Donington are already booked for this season, it depends on when I can get leave as to what other race weekends I can attend.
Oh and may you continue topping the time sheets. That Alfa looks like pure filthy sex on wheels.

No need to apologise. I fully understand it’s a totally new car and testing time is limited and precious so you have to maximise the time available.

Go and introduce yourself at the hospitality bus at Donington and I'll make sure you get looked after You could see the frustration on some of the mechanics faces in other teams as they struggled to get people to move out the way.

Where is the drool smiley. By god there beautiful cars. My next will be a Gulia quadrafilgia (or however you spell it).
Who do I ask for at the hospitality. I know it’s cheeky but thanks for offering I would love to take you up on the offer.

Wishing you guys a good season ahead.
Despite the British weather trying to spoil the party again, it was a fairly enjoyable day at Donington for the Media Day. There seamed to be a lot less people there than in last few years which meant a more relaxed feel to the day, certainly no big gazebo's anywere in sight.
Sum of the liveries are very samey samey, Dynamics is very underwhelming and as it is so similar to the EuroTech cars its almost impossible to tell them apart until they are really close to you.
One thing i've learned from going to the last 5 years media days, if you want to have a close look at the cars, don't try during the session as the teams will be too busy, hence the garages being close. Wait until its all finished as the cars are normally pulled into the pit lane and its open to walk up and down so you can get a nice look and not be in anyones way.
Anyway here my vid from the days action if anyone interested:
