Zero improvement. Circuits are still st. Frankly it's embarrassing. Was just treated to a nice closeup of one of the cars clattering over an uneven manhole cover in the middle of corner entry.
I’m not sure if I like it or not really. Some great overtaking but the noise is odd and the circuits are all very tight and seemed to lack any real sense of speed.
It reminds me a bit of when you see an F1 car in London, it looks great but seem constrained and a bit unnatural.
I do watch the E series though as there is a lot of action but it’s not for the F1 purist I’m sure.
I didn't even realise it had started up again until I saw this thread, but based on that it looks like C5 have continued where they left off last year, and where ITV left off when they had the coverage before that, by running little or no advertising whatsoever to tell you when it's actually on
For those who did catch it this morning, is the C5 coverage the same as last year? So pretty much still just minimal build up, followed by the race, and a small bit of review before it gets cut off to return to C5's normal programming of repeats. That's all I remember of some of the coverage last season. Although C5 played a blinder on the final race weekend. They showed the race, cut to the end of race / season celebrations / trophies, etc, and then announced "Sorry, but we have to end our coverage here as we're out of time. Please join us later this year for the new season" followed by the credits
I enjoy the racing but I'd just prefer a bit more build up / review as well.

Was certainly better action wise to the last f1 race and a brit won too. The TV coverage was slightly better than last year but still needs work. The restart/delay was way too long, track design stupid nut its here too stay and watching this is way better than anything else on TV atm.

embarrassing
This is the only word to describe the series. As said many times last year - using these street circuits is obviously to mask the lack of pace in the cars and is just st.The first corner incident with them all "stuck" nose to tail reminded me of my child on the electric go-karts on holiday, and when they end up stuck like this in the barriers they wait for the grumpy middle-aged greek guy with a half smoked cigar hanging out of his mouth to come over and push them backwards with his foot.
Instead of these rubbish "street circuits", why not race them on smaller real circuits - something the equivalent of Oulton Park, Knockhill, Croft and I'm sure there are many similar sized circuits all round the world. Circuits that have genuine motorsport history. Circuits that are probably crying out for the coverage and income a series like this could bring.
Street circuits for pseudo slicks/wings cars are a joke.
Enjoyed that.
Great in car footage. Live interviews with the drivers. My kids think the cars look and sound much better than F1 cars, loads more action, short punchy races, future technology, big teams all buying into it.
It’s not hard to imagine a (distant) future where this the becomes the dominant series. It’s all the stuff F1 isn’t.
Sure F1 fans might not like it but what’s going to engage young people more?

I've tried to avoid comparing it to F1 so far but watching today and listening to talk of 'lift & coast' and 'marbles offline' I was struck by how formula e has a lot of the same problems F1 has. People complain about Mickey Mouse circuits in F1! Great in car footage. Live interviews with the drivers. ETA: While we're comparing the two, I am surprised that Formula e, despite covering a fraction of the distance of a Grand Prix at much lower speeds (and utilising the technology of the future) suffer such attrition over the race with cars just fizzling out.
Perhaps kids will like it because they can relate to the battery anxiety aspect.
