Have to agree: bizarre sight but very frightening.
The marshall was also very lucky not to have been more seriously injured. Makes me appreciate even more the risks they take and the job they do in enabling us to watch and participate in motorsport.

Seeing the GT on 4 footage made my hair stand on end all over again. The marshall seemed to dive backwards over the front corner of the blue viper (which had been going really well, but was entirely a frisbee at this point), it missed his knees by a miracle.
And as for the Saleen and then Pullan in the Tuscan...what crunches. You can only say the patron saint of waterskiiers was on duty that day.

yeah, seeing the footage brings back the memories, that crunch noise as the No.8 and 9 hit was horrible, and the viper, jesus! when i saw the two saleens hit from knickerbrook, i just knew that the viper would be off! bloody typical! the car i was suporting gets trashed! glad that everyone was Ok, amazing, did u see the bit where watkins was in the viper just about to step out and the tuscan came flying past him, jesus christ, very lucky no one was hurt, then the comentator said that mike newton is co-owner of the 3 saleens i thought 'god, that will be some repair bill mate'
ive just sent the pcs of the saleens to www.wreckedexotics.com and he has never seen a wrecked saleen before and he will post my photographs on the site soon, i'll post a link to it, when its on the site
Marshall too slow in stopping the race. Not sure of rules but my impression was the race could have been stopped with less damage. We saw it all from the TVR Club trailer. The fact that no one was badly injured was probably down to the car designers plus little resistance to horizontal forces from tyres? Not all the drivers had slicks due to high probability of heavy rain.....

only the lister had wets on.
The tranisition from drizzle to "Noah, you still got that boat of yours?" was so fast I don't think anynoe could have stopped it before the carnage ensued.
