Anyone been to DTM/GT3 racing at Nurburgring?
Discussion
Evening all,
got a few weeks off work to book and I've always loved the Nurburgring; preferably the Nordschleife, but nevertheless.
Weekend tickets that i'd buy for both of these would cost a total of 67 euros
And that's an expensive ticket for the DTM
Literally thought this this afternoon, but early plans would be to book Friday to following Monday off work. Travel down either Thursday night or early friday morning for DTM Practise. Stay there until Sunday. The Thursday and Friday the Nordschleife is open, and i'd love to take my car on the Nord. Then sat/Sun would be GT3, then drive back Monday.
For me, Nurburg is around 8 hours. I think 2 hours drive to Chunnel, then around 4/5 hours on the continent, so easily doable in a day if needs be.
Has anyone done similar or have anything that i may have missed and need to be aware of?
Weekends are mid September, and currently the Monday to Wednesday are free.
Things I know of to be aware of but not looked much into yet.
Hotel prices being astronomical due to events
Channel Tunnel costs/Ferry costs
Nordschleife cost
Fuel (BMW 340i, genuinely can sit at 75 and get 40+ mpg)
Would maybe stretch it out on the Autobahn though
Possibility of camping
The actual events? I managed to find a timetable of events for one weekend a while ago but can't find it now. Are there 'support' races for each to fill up the days?
Danke! :smashin:

I went to Hockenheim last month for DTM but mainly for the World RX that was on with it.
First things first, DTM is a bit dull ,3 manufacturers ,6 cars each ,doesn't make for the best entertainment.
There will be support races ,I got Audi TT cup and German Carrera cup and the WRX I mentioned above.
You'll probably get the first 2 but definitely not the WRX.
The Ring is easily doable in one hit from Calais or Chunnel.
