Many of you will have seen the horrific crash in the F4 race at Donington.
Sadly Billy has had both his lower legs amputated as a result.
There is a charity being set up to help him attain his ambitions

Just saw this from the BTCC Facebook page, very sad news for someone at the very early stages of his racing career.

What an absolute tragedy, can I just respectfully ask that anyone here who derives pleasure from watching motorsport in whatever form, please make a donation (if you can) to help with Billy's recovery, thank you.

We were at Donninton on Sunday and saw first hand the aftermath of the accident. It looked horrendous and clearly it was. Puts things into perspective, just donated and I hope other follow.

I wonder if this could be put elsewhere for maximum reach?

I was racing myself on Sunday when I heard about this terrible accident. Ive donated and shared it to the sprint series page I'm apart of and have raised a fair few quid so far.
Hope he recovers to some sort of normal life.

Get well Billy monger we are all behind you.

What really sad news, hopefully the target will be reached and given the way it seems to be increasing by the second i don't think it will take long to reach.

Donation made.

Alex Zanardi is the inspiration for Billy, if he needs to look to anyone.

It is wonderful to see the motorsport community banding together to show their support at times like these. 92% of the goal reached at the time of writing, merely hours after the campaign was put live.

Incredible sense of community during these times, will easily hit 100% not even 12 hours after launching. The list of names sharing and donating is huge.

Fantastic response from the Motorsport community, everyone from Zak Brown to Jenson Button have been posting the link on social media (and I imagine quietly donating). Just shy of the £260k already.

The leader of our kart team is good friends with Billy's family, so we were especially sad to hear the news.

Over on Facebook, this design has been released for anyone to have made for themselves or to sell, just request the graphics via email. All they ask is that sales profits to towards the just giving page:

According to a screenshot on Twitter, JB was extremely generous and donated £15k!

While the big money from sports stars is wonderful, this is the one that bought a little tear to my eye.
