Not sure where to ask this, but could a Ginetta G4 GRDC car be used as a (fast) road car?

I'm looking at an Exige S and spotted this model as a potential alternative. Is it possible? The Exige S is hardly known for creature comforts. Happy to be told I'm barking for a 15k+ miles a year option.

Assuming it has always been a race car then it will need an IVA test.

Ginetta did make a road going version with the duratec engine so looks like it would be possible.

If you do not know what an IVA test is look at it as a combination of a super MOT plus a check on the design and build of the car, usually applies to kit car which you could class the Ginetta as one in this case. IVA manual is available to download from various sites but make sure you have the latest. Things to look out for are lighting position (especially a side repeaters), e marked glass, demist capability on front screen and wipers, emissions (engine will need a CAT and have a letter form ford stating the manufacture date), seat belt mounting point position, interior bodywork and trim radii, exterior bodywork radii, access to the brake bias system (may need a bolted down cover if it is biased), exhaust noise, there may be loads more but they seem to be the obvious bits to check.

If you need to know more about IVA (by the way the test is £450) worth putting a post in the Kit Car section on here.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Ugg10. To be honest, I spoke to a few people and decided that an alternative vehicle would be more suitable. Hopefully I'll be out of my ISF this weekend (by hopefully I mean I hope to complete a sale, the car is still awesome). I'll then, the following week, try to get into Lotus Evora the following week.

Totally different car, but I think it's more appropriate.
