Sorry, it's a Historic Grand Prix Cars Association entry.
Oh my, a Maserati A6GCM.
Running in the 2 litre straight six.
197 brake and a sound to die for.
Maserati drew a quite a crowd.
Unstoppable I think not: scary drums.
1951 GP office.
Next: 50s GP racers (Maserati, Scarab, Bugatti) rounding La Source.

1960 Ferrari 246 Dino: first use of a V6 engine in an F1 car.
1954 Maserati 250F 2501/2523: Google to explore the wonderful heritage of this specific car.
1954 Kurtis 500C: only 9 Indianapolis Roadsters built.
Maserati 250F 2507/23/22: close to 300 brake from a 2.5 straight six.
1951 Maserati A6GCM: this 2 litre was quite a handful to haul through the La Source hairpin.
Legend Maserati 250F tight as a modern car: tire squeeking I could hear not. Epic.
Kurtis 500M with the beefy Offenhauser four monoblock.
Bugatti T73C - qually went OK but at lap 1 of the race the supercharger had a hiccup and that was it. Manifold exploded.
OMG what a stunner: 1937 Talbot Lago T26SS.
Next: Porsche!

Agreed Ken. Let's share some Pork.
Quick Bates 911 screamer off to the pit after a succesful qually.
Tomlins Elan outbraking and passing the Swiss Scemama family 911.
Swiss family 911 wrestling through La Source. Not easy to catch in pixels but the 911s are maniacal through the hairpin.
The difference in speed is immense: GT40s bullet past other cars like spaceships.
Carolyn Twaites peeping past the Big Healey lady Equipe .
More 911 through La Source.

Close? Shaving the wall but never touching.
A handfull even after the turn in. Most cars have the extra lights added.
A B is hardly a match for the quicker 911. Monocoque MG is pretty agile at cornering though.
Classic shape looks brilliant in the afternoon.
Sliding, oh yes sir.
Next: Alfa yum. Bertone 105 and a Montreal racer.
The sheer genious of fitting a 33 racing V8 in an upgraded 105 frame ... and convert it into a racing car.
For sale - lottery!
SPICA fuel injection yum.
U2TC 105 Bertone Alfa Romeo. This pit had 2 entries: a 1750 and this 2 litre.
OMG. OMG.
Next: Really, a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing racer? Only at Spa.
Thanks, looking forward to your snaps. Please post here

Hi Albert, sorry didn't have time to chat at Spa. Good to see you, anyway!
We reckon if using max revs through gears Gilbert would do a 3:15 in our hands. Still way off a 'good' MGB with someone like Tom Smith driving... As was, we kept to 6K Rev limit during race, but on straights engine would pull more in top. So happy with 3:17 !
First 90 minutes of race was great fun, and really enjoyed it. Started 98th or whatever, up into 50s by end of stint. Just as Iain started to get into it the rain started, so he wasn't able to get down to same lap times. It dried out near end of his drive and I got back in car around 4hr mark. After a bit the deluge came, making track undriveable. I was happy to see safety car as didn't fancy trying to keep racing in those conditions, even though for this race I had rebuilt the wiper system with another motor. Also the Gilbern Owners Club had 4 heated windscreens made, one of which I fitted! Made a lot of difference.
After the safety car went in I drove carefully as didn't want to bin the car so late on. Then 15 minutes from the end all the lights failed, so I had to do 3/4 lap in the dark and wet! Fortunately we were able to get the headlamps working again, so that's how I finished the race. We visited fuel station twice as still had small issue with starvation, but I reckon without that problem we could do race with only one refuel needed. That would move us up the results a few places!
Best wishes
Mike

Tom Dark about the unfortunate T73C Bugatti:
Tom Dark: Had a backfire and inlat manifold exploded. All fixed now for Snetterton this weekend.
Me: Wow, did the supercharger hiccup?
Tom: Yes.

Gullwing yum:
Paul Chase-Gardner brought his 300 SL Gullwing to Spa.
Oh my, a toned-down racer brought back to racing spec.
Wikipedia: Werner Engel won the 1955 European Rally Championship driving a 300 SL. The car also had a victory in the Rali Vinho da Madeira in 1960.
So much elegance and a huge difference with period (racing) cars.
Imagine 260 kmh in a road car. A fuel injection first , derrived from the WW2 Messerschmidt fighter planes.
Next: More Alfa.

That SL's a bit tastey! Nice photos, Dink
Paul Chase-Gardner brought his 300 SL Gullwing to Spa. Properly used as it seems.
More Alfa:
Resting.
Alfa Nord likes a bit of short intake.
Giugiaro did an ace job on the early Bertone Alfa. No bumper looks the dogs.
Later model has the flat bonnet. Dream garage stuff: a late Bertone with the 2 litre Nord, EFI and double plugs please.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Zagato. It's small!
German Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA did well in the 6 Hours: P29 / 3:13 best lap.
Next: more 6 Hours racers at La Source. Let's throw a few Mustangs in.
Sleep / Wykeham Ford Shelby Mustang 350 GT running a bit rich. Which in the case of a massive piece of Yank iron results in spectacular illumination.
Super quick (3:02) lapping Mustang trying to catch the late braking slower (3:10) Big Healey. You better know what you're doing.
Fantastic P39 for this lovely Porsche 356C (3:22) chasing the much quicker Adriaans Mustang, which had to retire after just 18 laps.
Signature Ford Shelby Mustang 350 GT shot.
Only at Spa: close up and personal with a racing car and driver. You can almost hear them curse when they enter La Source not as intended.
Next: paddock treasury, Ferrari 250 SWB and 289 TVR Griffith.
