History made at Spa
Martin Short on the historic finish at Spa last weekend
Discussion
The 1 hour stop felt like a lifetime. I was wearing the flooring out at the back of the garage. And when it came back in again with the same symptoms the crew were gutted (esp. Martin). Luckily it only took a few minutes to fix!
What amazed me was the reliability. Only a couple of small problems (ok, the orig misfire due to a wiring loom took over a hour to fix) after 24 hours of racing. The Speed Six engine was fantastic and one of the quietest on the track. Hopefully this will start to rebuild the reputation of this engine which wasn't too good before the race.
Next time the team might push it a bit harder now that a finish is under their belts. Simon might still be a teenager when he wins his first 24 hour race!

Ted, mail me your adress and I will send you the pictures on CD. I've got about 100 MB of Veryplast TVR pictures available. I just send three CDs out to Rollcentre and will hand two to Jo (the ones for Veryplast) at the weekend when I meet him at the Ring. Rob, maybe we can throw our pictures together. If you also want a CD, let me know your adress.
Rob, picture no 8 shows us standing at Raidillion. About three meters right of the camera tower on the far left you can see the pulled in TVR flag post. Sadly, we had to pull it in because it obscured the camera view. A rather nervous Belgian urged us to do so just minutes before the start. What a shame, that would have been it...
Hansgerd - I've dumped all (including the rubbish) of my photos of SPA at www.bedrock.demon.co.uk/Images/SPA/
I've cut the resolution of them as they would have been over 3Mb each!

Jo updated the Veryplast site (www.veryplast-racing.be). There you find a detailed report of the weekend.
