TVR in 24 Hour Race!
Cancel all your plans and get to Spa for 3rd/4th August

Ted, the question "So, what are you doing the weekend of 3rd/4th August?" seems so provoking that I wonder what you will be doing at that weekend. Will you be coming over ? Think about it, it will be a top class event, you better don't miss it.
I'd love to but I've got a hundred and one things going on currently business wise and personally which means every day is too short currently! I know we can rely on the army of PH supporters going to let us know what happened though.

From a person with an Aero8 "on order". What would you consider to be a "good" outcome time-wise. Presumably some time more than the bottom-dweller managed at Le mans ?
On the basis the engine lasted 6 hours at Suzuka (a year ago) and the current TuscanR engines are only having a mid-season re-build, I'd hope it would last at least 12 hours. I think that in itself would be hugely credible performance for TVR and if it lasts 24, it's going to be there or therabouts on the podium.

That's the savest bet that you can be for sure of, promised.
As for the critics, I only can say I 100% share Chris' words. We'll see, with luck the outcome will be better than we all expected. I wish the TVR crew (Rollcentre, Veryplast, MM and all others involved) all the luck and everything else it needs to fullfill their goals. May the force be with them. Really, after the cancellation of the Eurorace I thought that they would never race this year. Then Dominiek mentioned that they will probably race at Zolder in the 24 hours. But now with the 24 hours at Spa ahead I just can say WHOW big time. I know what it costs and takes to compete in there. Much respect up front for them.
Besides this, if you follow the FIA GT Championship (which is the top bang class we are allowed to see here in Europe, no more ELMS) it may not slipped you that Lister will be going for it at full throttle. That should be reason enough for you from GB to cross the channel, shouldn't it.
I hope to see some of you there. I'll be either wearing a TVR Car Club shirt or the PH shirt (Thx again Ted).

I've camped at both Le Mans and Spa (for the GP) and the toilets (polyjohn/Tardis Toilet style) were the worst I've ever seen. One had to hover above the seat, not because of some fastidious worry about wee on the seat but because the pile of #2 had reached about 4" above the rim...
Better pack the Imodium.

quote:Ah, luxury. You mean they had seats? Several campsites at LeMans only have a hole in the ground. At least the holes were deep so as not to overfill.

We started taking our own loo, shower, paddling pool (see this months Sprint) and fridges to bring the facilities back up to that we were accustomed to.

There are always the woods to loose some weight and there are lots of it in the lovely Belgian Ardennes. Ok, so far we haven't that much support for Shorty and his crew together. I'll be at the press conference on wednesday and will bring the team pie on thursday but who will make sure they have enough to eat during the 24 hours. Let me know and I will talk to the pie makers. Also a message to Veryplast, please have a weekend ticket for me. I'll give any support I can, photos are for free and a nice calendar for christmas is in planning. Anyone else from here tempted ? You can use my loo if you need to. It's just 50 KMs from the circuit...
