Shorty at Le Mans!!
Discussion
Yeah, that was a shame, really. I hope Martin enjoyed himself, anyway. How did it happen ? Martin was interviewed by Radio LeMans after the incident and he said that he would leave for home now. I hope there will be a vacant slot at Konrad next year. The Saleens were really trying hard to set the Dunlop bridge alight.
Yep, was a real shame. He was so emotional when he came back through the precession to jump in a Tuscan infront of us. We were all wearing red East Sussex TVR shirts and waving several TVR flags chanting his name.
At least he did a few laps during practice and will know next year what to expect. TVR next year? I'll do the offical photography for free.

Preferably in a TVR of course but it won't happen. Let's be realistic. Veryplast, you are preparing the Cerbera for the 24 hours, don't you ? I'm counting on you, I'll make the pictures for free, too. Still in the position given, if I was Martin I would try for a seat in one of the Konrad cars for next year. I know, they didn't perform too well in LM this year. However, Martin knows them and they have great potential.
Just to say a hige thankyou to everyone at Le Mans who was supporting me, despite being in a Ferrari!
The drivers parade blew me away, with the East Sussex guys and gals stopping the precession with chants of 'Shorty, Shorty'. My two co drivers, who prior to this were probably thinking 'who's this bald old git', were in shock after this event, and many others around the parade. I have to admit to feeling a complete fraud as I was there with the wrong car. If we had taken the R there we would have been on pole, and wouldn't have disgraced ourselves in the race. We wouldn't have won, but to beat the German steamroller that is Porsche GT3 is about a tall a mountain as it is for Don Panoz to beat Audi. The taking part would have been just fine.
I hope that I can do it again next year, and I really hope that it is an R. That car is made for that track.
My experience of the event was fantastic, and whilst I didn't actually drive in the race, strangley I didn't feel to bad about it. And the experience is very valuable.
Lots of credit to Richard Stanton and his guys for getting the Morgan so far, fantastic effort....
And as for my fellow driver who wrote the car off, lets just say that it was an incredibly expensive mistake all round. Time is a great healer.
We made up for our disappointment yesterday by nearly doubling our championship lead, despite being punted back to last at the start, so I am still a V.Happy Bunny!
Cheers, Martin short

Martin,
The sight of you in front of 'us - East Sussex boys and gals' was like 'Bridger in Prison - in the Italian Job'. The last time I saw so may tears was at the Oscars...
but seriously - we did try to get your phone number to invite you round to the post race celebrations in the houx camp site; perhaps you could pop round next year after the race - we are always ready for a party.
