So I need to make it clear that I’m posting this up purely as a thanks to Julian, not to point out what he was missing today.............

JRM had an end of season jolly on today at Donington Park and Julian was unable to attend due to work commitments so I snuck into his seat instead laugh.

Unfortunately they wouldn’t let me have a drive whistle but did do rides in these cars with Martin Plowman and Kelvin Fletcher at the wheel -

Thanks Julian, it was a fun day out biggrin
Glad you enjoyed it mate and sorry I was unable to be there with you.

Did you tell them it needed a Satchell rear end? biggrin
No, he told them I was suffering from chronic diarrhea, in order to nick my place off me!

Julian, was it a joint plan with BTCC? I’m just wondering how it came about, did one side approach the other? If not, it just seems a big coincidence that they both announced at the same time.
The rescheduled dates have been worked to ensure the majority of the calendar remains unchanged while avoiding direct clashes with GT World Challenge Europe, GT Rebellion Series, GT2 and GT4 European Series.

It has been quite some work (all credit to SRO), but it looks like we have got there!

Seems very sensible to push it all back, and this year will be much better than 2020. Hope it's a great season!

Slightly off topic but Kunos have announced that the British GT pack will be released for Assetto Corsa Competizione later this week as paid DLC on the PC.

I must admit this game has got me more into GT racing, makes me appreciate the skill the drivers have in putting in consistent fast laps every lap.

Will definitely help me memorise who's who in British GT! I'm fairly familiar with the top drivers are in the international GT series are I couldn't really name you any British GT drivers despite attending 3 races in the past 24 months!

Hopefully the game will encourage more people to come attend the races, especially if like last year's its one of the only sporting events that allowed spectators.
Yes that is correct. I was aksed to sponsor this too, but with my other GT commitments it was just pushing things a bit too far this year.

The rain stopped just before the race started, which was lucky!

It was a great weekend (really decent weather on Saturday) and brilliant to have crowds back to give it the buzz. Behind closed doors was not great at all.

I got to start the race and get soaked in Champagne when handing out the trophies at the end! biggrin

Planning starts for next year now and we really want to grow it further and attract a larger/new fan base by showing that F1 is not everything. rolleyes

I am also planning on holding a competition here where the winner gets taken for a hot lap in the McLaren GT safety car before the race starts. I let a mate of mine have it yesterday and he got out looking like a schoolboy with a huge grin on his face (and feeling a bit wonky)! rotate

Thanks for posting that. Denis and Leo had a fantastic season, I'll give the interview a good read. This is them looking very happy indeed and me presenting to them on the podium yesterday.

Biased and a limited fan base, but show the orange army some love. I couldn't make it but know that a week before they were worried about the likely turn out!
The core fans will always be at the top of the tree when it comes to everything.

We are just looking to widen the exposure to others who my be into F1 (for example) and not realise that the British GT is so exciting and much more accessible.

Nothing will change with the long established format (and in any event this is out of our remit even if we were stupid enough to want to do this!).
