Winter for a TVR owner can be so depressing. Knew I shouldn't try getting a TVR grin at this time of the year but I couldn't resist the blue sky and nothing better to do on a Friday afternoon. Now all % of the blame for my mishap belongs to the 5 other people in this weeks poker game on Thursday evening at PokerStars. Our supercharged 2500M has been tucked up since the first of December and I found a few extra bucks for petro due to the poker game and I thought that I might as well invest this money into some "GRINS". Mistake #1
Now remember that there is snow covering the streets around our house but the well travelled main roads are dry. Geared down into third to overtake a slower car and as I was pulling into the other lane I saw a reflection on the road from the 10 to 11 candle power headlights. OOOPS, it was too late to do anything and I started experiencing that spinning sensation and wondering if I was coming or going. Luckily I was doing the 8 or 20 spins in the centre of the road and came to rest facing the wrong way. The guy that I was trying to overtake came back to see if I was all right and we had a good laugh when he told me what he saw in his mirrors of this little sportscar coming up behind him at a fast rate of speed in his opinion and then watching headlights, taillights, headlights, taillights etc. (you get the picture). So I had a smoke on the side of the road and decided to head home to put the car on the hoist and spray the salt off the underside. As I pulled into my driveway, I knew that I wasn't going to get my sprayer out and wash the underside because it may be cold right now but we are expected to have blue skys again tomorrow, and you know what I'm going to be doing. Getting the "Grin On".
TVRs and black ice may not mix but a TVR Grin in March is just what the Doctor ordered for that depression. Just glad I was driving our daughter's car with only 128 HP at the rear wheels and not my monster with the 347 Stroker and over 400HP. That would have caused a brown stripe moment for sure. So next Thursday I am going to enter the poker tourney again to get some revenge on those 5 who caused me to endangered my life and if I happen to make some extra cash, the long term forecast is no snow and blue skys Friday,Saturday and Sunday. YAHOO.......

It isn't Sherry that is playing poker with 5 others it is me, as I haven't really worked since before I saw you at WW/09. The "economy crunch" really hit us hard here in Calgary. Right now things are changing for the better and I'm trying to reward a few of our old employees by setting them up in business for themselves.

I am glad that Sherry or one of the kids were not with me during my OOOPS moment. That was the first time that I have done 360s in any of the cars and I hope that I don't do it again in the near future. If I had been in my car, more than likely I would have experienced the same thing that too many other TVR owners have done by putting their cars into the bushes.

Sherry had her own problems this summer with her car as she got hit by a semi/lorry. Majority of the damage was paint and fibreglass. We got that fixed and when she was bringing her car home from the body shop she got too close to another semi and the wheels threw a rock up at her and damaged the ghost flames (I know that it isn't the best thing to do by painting flames on a car that has a reputation of catching on fire)that we had painted on her hood so her car is back at the body shop for the winter repairs of her paint job. If our body man does his normal speedy job on the repairs, I won't have to worry about finding storage room in the garage for this winter.

Do you have plans on making WW/11 this year??? If Sherry allows me to go state side this year for WW/11 I would like to bring her car so I could stop in "TorontA" and show John what we did with another one of his creations. I personally don't like the boring automatic transmission in her car but like I said before "there are not enough spare tranny parts or clutches in our area to teach her how to drive a stick properly. I am still in trouble for trying to increase her life insurance policy after her mishap with the semi. By the way she wasn't hurt by the semi. Talk to you later and stop by for a game of poker on Thursday.
