Im sitting at work reading a magazine which is apparently new ( their first issue)called CARGO... Its sort of like Maxim which most people are familiar with. Anayways they have an entire article about foreign cars coming to to the US. Lotus, Morgan, Smart Brabus, and what do i see? TVR Tuscan S. And the date it is (according to this magazine) coming to the United States is the FALL OF 2005. next year baby. God i hope this magazine isnt full of crap. someone please confirm this..... www.cargomagazine.com/ Im going to email the magazine and try and find out where they got this information. i hope its legit.... By the way... the Tuscan S they had is going for 86.5k US dollars.

A us importer called Amerispec in CN was also mentioned in the article. this is a government site that actually lists importers of non conforming vehicles for 2004.www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/web_RI_list01132004.html

Just a thought.....If TVR was going to make an announcement about an immiment return to the US market, would they use some obscure magazine like CARGO, which most of us in the US have never heard of, to make that announcement?
Based on past experience, I believe they would use one of the legitimate trade publications either here or abroad, or both as that vehicle. I would definitely have to question the veracity of the "fall of 2005" comment that they have so boldly quoted.

Im going with that info is all BS. If something like that was gonna happen all the other major publications would know about it.

As a counterpoint, what would be the motivation for a start up magazine to publish false information?
That is a sure way to turn off readership--unless it is the Weekly World News (those in the USA will know what I mean).
I hope this is true--maybe there is some truth to Sprint's quoting Ben Samuelson as saying "Watch this space".

ok so i got a reply from cargo this morning and their car editor wrote this......

Exciting news, isn't it? I'm afraid I am only allowed to say a "confidential
source at TVR" provided us with this information. Start saving your money...

FYI, the compant that owns Cargo Magazine is no fly night operation--look at their list of affiliated publications!
I'll still wait for TVR to come out of the closet...

I agree it's exciting to be primed with such tidbits of information. But just remember, there has been a thread like this discussing whether TVR is coming back to the US market for the past 2+ years on Pistonheads........and still no results as yet.
Not to sound pessimistic, but I've become a "believe it when I see it" kind of person. I would like to see a good, full-fledged return effort by TVR done in a really professional, classy way, as much as anyone.
I'm still "watching this space" in Sprint as I got the
March issue yesterday. Also hoping for an announcement as part of next weeekend's Sebring event.
We'll see.

yea i know what you mean... hopefully this is it... it is pretty weird that they would have this info in a brand new non automobile magazine, though i suppose TVR has their reasons.... lets hope this is it.

Having visited Blackpool in 1995--and a wonderful factory tour (didn't meet Ned), I am hoping that this is the moment many of us have been waiting for.
Hope they rock in Sebring--the beacon would be very bright for TVR!

I've heard from a good source in the UK that Mr. Samuelson will be launching the Tuscan at Daytona during his trip to Sebring next weekend. As a Taff living in Maryland, I hope he's correct but I hope I don't have to take my future TVR to Daytona for servicing 'cause it's a mighty long way!!

Good luck to both cars at Sebring next week!!!

I'd hate for Ben to launch TVR at Daytona when everyone is going to be at Sebring

Yea, I guess a dealership in the orange groves makes a lot of sense. You can't re-launch TVR in the US without some dealers and Sebring doesn't even have a John Deer dealership. My source thought that Sebring could be the vehicle and Daytona the most likely location for a Dealer.

This is my first time on Pistonheads, I'll try to be more explicit in future.

I hope and dream that they will decide to come to the U.S. Ever since my dad bought a 1971 2500m ive wanted to have a new one. That car got me so pumped up about TVR. It is strange that the news was posted in this magazine but oh well its hope for me! lol! This is quit a large chunk of change though and I fear that it will take a while to aquire one. Hopefully one day i will see a Tuscan in my driveway!
