Out of the Woodwork 2006
Discussion
Believe it or not, it's time to start making plans for the TVR Car Club North America's annual event, "Out of the Woodwork", for 2006.
This year there is both a change of venue as well as a change in the time of year. We are coordinating the 2006 event with the famous Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania USA May 19-21, 2006. Because hotel rooms in the area sell out early, it is critical for anyone interested in attending to make their reservations NOW!. For anyone needing full information on the weekend's activities, go to the TVRCCNA website at www.tvrccna.org and click on "Out of the Woodwork 2006", or contact me at tvrccna@cox.net.
Come join us and celebrate the TVR marque.

Jeff,
Sorry about the website problem. The problem seems to exist with Internet Explore browsers but if you switch to Mozilla, Netscape, etc, it should come up fine, or at least it does with me. The webmaster is working on a solution.
Meanwhile, Woodwork is being held in conjunction with the Import/Kit/Replicar Nationals May 19-21. Most of the hotel rooms are already booked, but if you call quickly, you may still be able to get one. OUr hotel is the Hotel Carlisle (1-800-692-7315) and be sure to mention the TVR Car Club to get the $110 per night room rate.
To register your car, do that directly with Carlisle by going to
www.carsatcarlisle.com and click on the Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals link. We had 38 TVRs pre-registered a week ago and still counting and are more than double the number of the nearest marque in registrations!!!.
If you have any other questions, just let me know at tvrccna@cox.net

Yep, works ok with Mozilla.
Thanks Marshall.
Can somebody address the; is carlisle an Import AND Kits
or Imported kits show, it isn't really clear on the Carlisle site.
I'm sure we have all been asked "is that a kit car?"
I'm really curious as to the wisdom of joining it if it is a kit/ replica show.
Incidently I now answer the kit car question with "unfortunately no", followed by "if it was a kit car I'd know where to source all the spares."
Thanks Marshall.

As far as I'm aware, it's an Import and Kit show. The place where TVR, Lotus, Morgan, Noble etc will feel at home, alongside the Cobra and GT40 replicars. I've not mentioned the FIATS and BMWS but I guess they'll be there too.
In the UK, you could buy TVRs in kit form up to 1973 but I think that all US cars were only available fully built (but not neccessarily working )

Yes, this show is for import cars, kit cars, and replicars. But so far, TVR out numbers any of the marques, which I think is outstanding.
And, keep in mind, that an estimated 20,000 people will be attending during the weekend, which means our TVRs will be exposed to more people in one weekend than in the previous 25 years of Woodwork combined.

Colin, Marshall,
Thanks, I just came back to re-phrase my question as I typed it quickly and I wanted to remove the word "wisdom". I certainly hope no offence was taken as I do know a lot of work goes into organising this event.
I just had a vision of a field of those Ferrari replicas, the ones on the wrong wheelbase.
I didn't realise that TVRs were available in kit form in UK, although I had one around that time.
I'll aim for Friday or late on Sunday.
I think I can hear the car saying, Oh no, we're not going on PA roads again are we! (The Philadelephia ones are the bad bit)
Must get that new roof.
