It would cost with all the shipping taxes etc roughly US$100k or CDN$135,000 to do it.

The question is would you?

I have a Tuscan now, but have lusted over a Sag ever since they came out. 15 years already!

Import it with a view to doing what? Selling it and making a profit, or just for the joy and spectacle of it?

If the former, it’s a risky play, the latter, DEFINITELY! You might even get Doug Demuro flying up to see you again. This time though, let him drive it. wink

IIRC, Canada has a 15-year rule (I'm very envious, California has a pre-1976 rule), so it shouldn't be all that complicated to do. Will getting parts be complicated?

As you already have ‘experience’ running a Tuscan, and getting it looked after. Go for it, if it is the car you want.. it has the same engine and gearbox, so nothing you are not already wise to.

Life is short.

Only you can answer if it is of value to do it.

It is a much improved car over the Tuscan (I am not claiming it is perfect) but doesn't have the 'roof off' option.

I remember being told that you can import to the cars to the US that have been registered in Canada for at least 12-months (having no interest or necessity to do this I have no idea as to the truth of the situation) There should be a healthy market for the Tuscan and the Sag should you decide to sell. This would mitigate any extra costs now.

He did drive it, very gingerly I might add, he was very nervous pushing her. I told her, go on, give her some beans!

But he did not do a Doug score for it, I was a little disappointed, but it was his first drive at his new job so had not come up with his Doug Score yet.

I will need to sell my Tuscan first, before I move to a Sagaris. With the current environment seems a bit unlikely.

The cost difference between a Tuscan & Sagaris is almost x2. Importing a good Tuscan sorted car will cost CDN$65k

Would be amazing to see a Sagaris against scenic Canadian backdrops. Do it!

Was it difficult to obtain insurance cover? Who do you use?

Sometimes I consider a saggy, they are the ultimate tvr, but even at the same price I honestly think the tuscan offers something the saggy can't, roof off driving in a tuscan is magical.

I think at the cost and effort you describe it's worth flying to the UK and getting some seat time in a saggy, really see if you prefer it to justify the cost and hassle.

smile

Then man up and get a Cerbera anyway biggrin
