I have a 1988 TVR S1 with the 280. I'm not a mechanic so go easy on me, gents. What are the principal considerations in plotting an engine swap? I wouldn't do it myself but want to research if it's feasible before finding a local independent. My motor is fine as it is, I'm just interested in this swap idea....,,

Rather than V8 swap, I was thinking about the Duratec 35 with a Lincoln LS manual transmission. Where do I go to find out its dimensions compared against the Cologne V6? Would it require a whole new electrical setup too?

Just thinking aloud - what things should I consider and look into?

Post in the S forum for more replies.

Chassis is pretty flexible for getting an engine in. Rear suspension set up is the limiting factor. 300hp is a sensible max it can cope with.

Duratec V6 has been fitted by a few already.
