Can you import a TVR S series into the US?

I hope so... I haven't investigated myself - but will follow this thread to see what the buyer finds out.
I live here now (North Carolina) and would love to have an S over here - I am not sure I would want a RHD though - with its size and limited view - I'd be driven over by a bloody SUV before I knew it. I have been keeping an eye on Wedges and classic "M's" but nothing in the right price and location have come up.
I miss my 'S'
The guy who bought it lived in Lincolnshire - but I have never seen him post here or comment..

Where in NC are you? I am in Charleston, SC. I brought my Tirumph Herald 13/60 convertible over when I emigrated in 2004. Easy rpocess. That car is RHD, so is my Daimler SP250 and Reliant Scimitar I recently bought. I have no problems nor even had any scary moments driving a RHD car here. Go fot it. The only thing I hear is that selling a RHD car here is not easy, most Americans are simply scared off. Just find another Brit to buy it!

I am in Raleigh NC. Been here for 18 months.. If the greencard goes through this year as planned.. I will seriously look at a GB sportscar. TVR would be the choice and of course an S.
The 2.8 wedges just don't do it for me unfortunately, and a classic would probably be so hard to live with. MG's and Triumphs have never been my cup of tea either.
Importing an S would be great, but mention of the older age cars would probably mean a body off or paying through the nose to have one which has already been done.

Shouldn't be too far for you, a great event with a very good mix of old and new European cars. My recommendation is to stay in a hotel downtown in Greenville, a nice small city with a good downtown area for restaurants etc if you stay over at the event. I am attending this year.

I'm also a displaced Brit in NC. Durham to be exact. I'm considering buying an S from the UK but haven't found the right car yet. I have imported an old Mini and it was quite easy to do, providing the car is at least 25 years old. That means a 1987 S1 is now eligible.
I would rather build a Tuscan from a new chassis, LS motor and a used body. This constitutes a specially constructed vehicle and can be registered as such in NC. It is rather expensive to do when you consider the shipping costs of it all, or labour costs if you have the roller assembled to the new chassis. The end result would be awesome though!
Good luck finding an S - we might end up fighting over the same car!
