I know this topic has been discussed before regarding tyre sizes, but can anyone recommend specific tyres?
Is there anything available of a suitable size for standard 14" T slots that's not intended for a van (185/80) or designed for low noise and to last a million miles (195/70)?
Anyone got any personal favourites?

Thanks.

Quite happy with the tyres i have on the 'M', Fulda Carat Assuro's - 195/70/14's, good grip even in the wet. Got a set of 4 fitted for just over £200 a few years back. I understand they are German Goodyear tyres.

Thanks Ian,
that's exactly the sort of information I'm looking for.

Anyone else happy with their tyres or not as the case maybe?

Cheers.

It's what we have on our 3000S. Good all round tyre.

Two votes for Fulda so far then.

A bit more extreme but,is anyone using anything really soft or nearly a track day special. Something along the lines of the old A008R. Is there anything out there in a 14" 70 series tyre that will fit a standard rim?

Cheers.

Apologies for the thread hijack but would a set of 205 or 195 /60/14's be OK (accepting the lower ride height and speedo issue).

I've been quite taken with the Falken tyres in the past, accepting they are not a "classic" tyre.

regards

Mike

I need to check the exact specs on mine... but I bought a set of Yokohama tyres last year... the only ones I could find that were not van tyres...

They stick pretty well...

I will have a look later... il be in the garage anyway trying to figure out why the headlights flash with the indicators!

I have these on my 2500M... On wolfrace wheels, not T-Slots...

But they are pretty grippy considering..

Sorry Nigel..The 3000S has very different wheel arches (round as opposed to flat top) and can take the 205 70 with little issue. Mike you might need to dress the inner lip of the arch and add extra bump stops to limit travel.

Looking of a couple of new front tyres for the 3000M. I know folks talk a lot about the Fulda Assuro but has anyone tried the Vredestein Sportrac 5?

Better performance rating, reviews and a little cheaper than the Fulda.

Anyone tried them?

The Fulda Assuro 195/70 is a good tyre, my 3000s is on Michelin 185/80 which is even better (but a tad more expensive......), the Vredestein' have been reported to me as sh*te tyre........(so didn't go for them)

Seems the Fulda Carat Assuros in 195/70/14 are no longer available.

Any suggestions for alternatives?

The Fulda Carats can't be sourced anymore I guess. I tried a few weeks back with no luck. Then went for Dunlop SP StreetResponse 2 in 195/70 R14 - and so far very satisfied. Low noise and seem to have OK grip as well.

Anyone tried the uni royal rain expert?

Street response only seems to be available in T speed rating. Not that I'll be doing 118+ on the public roads m'lud wink
