What tyres for a Taimar?
Discussion
Taimars left the factory with 185x14 size tyres but most people fitted 195/70x14 when they needed replacing. Best solution, if you can afford it, is to fit 15" or 16" rims and then the choice of tyres becomes much greater. I have had 205/60 15V Bridgestones on 7x15 Compomotive 3-piece split rims since 1988 and they have kept me out of the gravel traps and armco at most of the trackdays I've attended, wet or dry, ever since.
The Terminator is right, having been in his car in the wet I was very impressed by the wet weather handling, shame you would have stayed just as dry with the hood down!!! (though it didn't keep him out of gravel at Donnington, did it Colin???)
I too went down the 15" wheel route to get more modern rubber on my car, running 205/55 Bridgestone S02 PP on front and 225/50 on rear.
If you want to stay with 14" wheel, then your choice of quality rubber is significantly reduced. I ran my car on Goodyear NCT2s for some time, not bad, but if you want something a little stickier look at Avon (Turbospeeds or something similar).
Alternatively ring Adrian Venn at Exactly TVR and ask him what he recommends.

(actually maybe those NCT2's were not so good in the wet after all, you are probably referring to my big moment where I visited the grass on both sides of the circuit and one side twice!!!!), that would have given you enough time to nip round again!!!!
or maybe I fell off with one of your special 'oil company friend' engines!!!!!!!!!!!!!
