I’ve nearly finished restoring my 1971 TVR 2500.

I need to get hold of the correct TVR bonnet badge, and rear TVR badge – guess this is all the car had in terms of ID apart from the numbers 2500 down the sill line. Does anyone re-manufacture these and have stock for sale ? (If the owners club sell them – I’m not yet in it )

Regards

Mike

I am in the same boat... I did find a company who sold badges similar...

But they were stupendously expensive....

I plan to cheat and get some badges cut out of "chrome" effect vinyl. I think it will look reasonable.

Do you have any photos of the 2500 at sill line that you mention? I have not seen a 2500M with anything down the side?

Hi

I don't think the M series 2500 had the letters 2500 on the sill line. With the earlier Vixen bodied cars TVR were trying to differentiate the 2500 from the 1600cc Vixens. With the M series it wasn't so necessary.

Mike

Hi,
I have bought one vixen bonnet badge with him http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TVR-M-series-Rubber...
not exactly the same as the original( green with little flake reflects not uniform, if my traduction is good!!)I can take some pics if you want, around 80$ from memory, in fact the same price I have sold an original very good M serie badge on ebay also!

I bought my vixen bonnet badge from David Geralds. I believe they do all the badges for the vixen including the plastic rear ones. I assume they do the same for the M.

Hi All

Thanks for info. I'll give David Geralds a call. I am aware of DG as I have bought parts from them............but found them a bit expensive !! I was hoping someone else might have some.

The 2500 is looking very nice. I've kept to the original colour which is Ford fox silver. I haven't been able to take any pictures yet to post with this topic as the brakes on this car aren't operational at the moment and I have a sloping driveway !

You could try https://www.isaydingdong.co.uk/custom-jobs.html or there are lots of listings on eBay from companies that make various car decals. If you can trace the original with a pencil and some paper your local vinyl sign maker will be able to match it. It is just a case of getting a match on computer then laser cutting it. They will cut the larger black numbers then put slightly smaller white ones over the top.
If you can drive the car to a local sign company I am sure they will measure it and cut it as the original. It will be a nice change for them, they will spend all day looking at the side of white vans!

The 2500 badge is not originally fitted - seems like a custom sticker …
