Using 3000 M daily ?
Discussion
hello,
I'm french (Sorry for my bad english level)and i'll certainly buy a 3000M tvr. It's one of the first models (1972) but the actual owner told me that the maitenance was always done on time and that the chassis is brand new. The car has less than 100 000 km.
I want to have your feelings about this model and to know if some of you are using it daily.
Regards
Aurélien

HAVE USED A TAIMAR (3000M WITH HATCHBACK) FOR 2 YEARS DAILY,NO REAL PROBLEMS EXCEPT FOR WATER INGRESS FROM TIME TO TIME, BUT MUCH MUCH OUTWEIGHED BY ALL THE ADMIRING LOOKS / REMARKS,, ANYWAY ARENT CARS MEANT TO BE DRIVEN NOT SHUT UP IN GARAGES.
YOU MAY FIND THE TAIMAR SLIGHTLY MORE PRACTICAL WITH THE HATCH BACK, HOWEVER IF YOU WANT TOTAL PRACTICALITY
THEN BUY AN ESTATE CAR !!!!

I've used my 1983 Tasmin 280i FHC (younger sibling of the Taimar) fairly constantly for the last Five years.
I've had no troubles, except for the usual wear and tear.
My advice would be to make sure you get it watertight and that the heater/blower works well.
Oh and of course Waxoyl it before every winter.
If you get a good one, they really are cheap to run.
Happy motoring!
