How fast are classics?

Can anyone give approximate performance figures for an 3000m tuned to 200BHP
V8S has around 200 bhp in a similar shape/weight so is a good comparision. Factory figures are on the TVRCC web site (probably elsewhere too) but I guess you'd be looking at around 5 seconds to 60 and a top speed of 145/150 ish. Mind you if you've sacrificed mid-range torque to get that much power the acceleration times won't be quite as good - the V8S (like all V8 TVRs) has an extremely torquey engine and performs better than you'd expect just from looking at the peak power figures.
Hope you've done something major to the transmission and brakes to cope with that extra power otherwise it might have a very interesting but short life!
Cheers,

My Taimar has around 200bhp, any performance figures will depend on gearing, my car runs 225/50 rear tyres on 15" rims so has a slightly smaller rolling radius than a standard car. When I also had an Impreza Turbo (235bhp but 200kg heavier), my Taimar would out accelerate the Impreza between 30mph and 90mph, however below 30mph it couldn't match the traction and after 90mph superior aerodynamics and being on full reheat (boost) the Impreza was off.
I would guess for my car 0-60 would be around 6-6.5 seconds and top speed about 120mph (gearing) however the in-gear increments are quite impressive for an old crate.
As per Pete Humphries valid comment, I do have a serious suspension setup and very serious brakes (cross drilled and vented brembos with AP 4 pot calipers)
However who cares about the performance, if you enjoy it, use the car, if iys not fast enough, sell it and buy a quicker one.
