AFFECTED VALUE OF CAR??
Discussion
It all depends on how original the rest of your car is.
TVR owners/enthusiasts are not too anal about exact originally anyway because not many people can tell you exactly how the car came from the factory - plus most cars were different because of who the factory could get credit from on that particular day/week.
It's not like Morris Minors!
If your existing gearbox is ropey and needs replacing then consider replacing with a better modern alternative.
If you are replacing a good gearbox for the sake of it then you are unlikely to recoup the costs if you sell it soon, if you are keeping the car for a while then I see no problem.
If the modification means moving the gearshift or something else visually controversial then think twice before doing it.
My opinion - Russ

Got a 5-speed in our vixen, standard type 9 box, gearchange is not as slick as the old 4-speed but fifth was great on the run to Zolder and back, ratios could do with being closer with fifth not quite so tall.As for affecting value of the car,no,sensible conversion making the car even more usable.unless you are going for absolutely original concours do it.
