My Grantura was originally a TVR press car/demonstrator (see Robson p29). It was then raced in the 1960s (it is a factory lightweight body/chassis) and now I'm racing in various historic events. Was best finisher out of 4 Granturas at the 'Ring last week - but that's not saying much as we all had problems!
Now looking for someone to professionally race prepare it for next season.
We ran in the 3hr Marathon race on the Nordschleife but a cracked rotor arm proved our undoing. Which Griffith were you there supporting?
I am, in fact, looking for someone to race prepare my car for next year. This year, my first, has been a bit of a DIY effort ... but I want to do it properly next season! If you find someone with a fondness for 60s TVRs please let me know.
We missed out seeing the Marathon race. We were supporting Tony Bailey's orange Griffith 400 in the GT race (virtually last race on Sunday). He had overheating problems unfortunately but there were 4 other Griffs in the race. One of them won but got excluded for punting a Cobra off.
For race preparation, try Neil Hookway - he has raced a Tuscan in the HSCC Roadsports championship (how we know him) and is going to help us out with out Griff. His email address is: babemagnet@bmracing.demon.co.uk & his mobile is 07885 233 288. Not sure if he's expensive in TVR terms but he does excellent preparation and knows his stuff. If you want to email me personally to continue the racing thread, please feel free to.
