Gearbox Numers

I have a 71 Vixen. Gearbox synchro is very poor. I have acquired a replacement "reconditioned" Type 3 gearbox but the casing numbers are quite different.
Original has the number 71BG 7006JA (Ford) and the potential replacement has the number 2824E 7006C (FoMoCo).
Can anyone decipher these numbers, please ?
