Wow! surely that ought to be an auction starting at 99p with no reserve?! That car will need so much work, can't possibly be worth £3300?!
It did start @ £500, but that's gone much better than he had hoped I'm sure. It's got a few days yet as well. Someone brave with time and deep pockets.. S.

Or someone looking for a hobby. The appeal on cars like this is that it will be less than a running car which will probably need as much work. There isn't much that can't be done in a shed. A damp one if wanting to recreate the conditions of when it was originally built.
The challenge is - what is missing. Parts which were once commonplace are now difficult to find.
I'd love to see a PH member buy this and walk us through the work they do.
what if you not restore it, but say, a dry ice spray on most, then fix it a bit together so it looks like a find in a barn old car and use it as decoration, just for coolness or better days to restore it?
looks like a lot of work, so a lot of free time, but if you have the space for it, nice puzzle.

Great to see that there is another one in existence.
To be honest, there have already been several comparable projects that dragged on for years or were unfortunately even canceled.
You really have to have staying power. Because as I see the pictures, every single part really has to be restored.

40 minutes to go, 680 Ebay watchers, 14 different bidders so far.
But the high bid has gone down to £3000. The two highest bidders at £3200 and £3500 withdrew their bids a few days later. Perhaps the reality of the likely bills had started to worry them. Or did the missus spot their bids and give them an earful ...?

Sometimes it's to find out what the reserve price (if any) was. But neither of those bidders bid again (none with the same feedback ratings anyway) so you're probably more accurate. The auction was in fact for two cars, the yellow one and the one on the container roof. The airborne one didnt have a chassis.
hm, makes it a bit better deal, wonder what the new owner plans are, would be nice if he's on here and started a thread around those parts, cleaning up and tells what he's gona do with it.so the one that did not have a chassis (rusted away?) does it have a chassis number in documents? or was that body to replace the on in the pictures, to restore it at some point long time ago :-)
