Vixen side repeater - cut them out?
Discussion
Hi
Just working on getting the bonnet back on. Frame rusted out. Thanks to a fellow enthusiast for making me a new one (To that friend. I haven’t forgotten ref the raw material cost!).
Question. The side repeaters and the small sidelights (?) in the headlamp cutouts both look naff. I know they are original, but none the less… easy to remove them now I am prepping for paint.
Would look smoother and even more classic? Side repeaters look too modern to me.
Thoughts?

Considered these options when prepping the replacement bonnet for my project Vixen.
It had external recesses to take the later rectangular indicator repeaters rather then the smaller ones that stuck out from my original bonnet. So I went with those later style repeaters, purely from a safety viewpoint - I would prefer an approaching vehicle to know I had intentions to turn in a certain direction from a T- junction.
But I didn't go for installing the small sidelights, instead I got headlamps with the secondary bulb already installed, to connect as sidelights.
Each to their own if originality isn't your guide and it certainly wasn't for me, just my own preference.

Mine came without either.
Personally I've always thought the side repeaters detract from the clean bonnet lines. The little side lights suit the car but seem pretty pointless with later headlight units that have sides built in.
So I've never considered adding either.
It's personal taste I guess. Go with your gut...
