Great project - well done to the winning bidder. Anyone here?
Would love to see how it progresses. A lot of work to do but some very interesting bits included. The engine alone with all the steel components is probably worth nearly half of the price paid.

Yes, and add the wheels and diff, and as a great road car sell the gearbox and dry sump kit and the spare ones (one looked like a Type 9) you’ve pretty much got the asking price with a bit of imagination. It’s had a lot of money put in but in strange ways, someone got in a muddle with it by the looks.
It needs going into and undoing stuff

Hi all,
I am the one who won the auction. I'm not new to TVR's or the forum, although it's been so long that I haven't been here I had forgotten my user name, so made a new one.
Before I had a 1962 Grantura mk2a (the one being raced in italy) and a 90's s3, I intend to use the car as intended for sprint and hill climbs.
Everyone has different opinions, but mine is that you can't be a purist on a tvr as that wasn't the ethos of the company, so going back to standard would be against the ethos as there wasn't a standard.
I intend to evolve the car in a period way, fix the chassis, and enjoy the experience.
Any advice is welcome. I hope to see you in my rear view mirror in the future

Kevfirth, welcome back and congrats. I think you've got a fab project and I like plan for it. It's exactly what I would do if I was doing it.
I hillclimb & sprint my Vixen as well as using it as a regular road car. Please keep us informed of progress and if there's any help you need, I be happy to offer any help if I can.
Hopefully see you at some hillclimb/sprint events next year then.

Well done with the purchase the car has huge potential. It’s very interesting what has been done to it - high cost stuff in a kind of random fashion and then stopping. Let us know how you get on.
